Olympus Mons is not simply an Earth mountain made taller. It is an enormous volcano built in a different geological setting.
A mountain built by lava
Olympus Mons is a shield volcano: repeated lava flows created a broad, gently sloping mass. On Earth, moving tectonic plates can carry the surface away from a volcanic hotspot. Mars does not have Earth's system of moving plates, allowing volcanic activity to build up in one region over a very long time.
It rises more than twice as high as Everest, although any precise comparison needs care: a mountain's quoted height depends on the reference level used. Its extraordinary width is just as important to its character as its height.
Choose the story your design tells
Select the whole volcano for its overall form, or move closer to explore the summit region. Those are different designs, not simply different zoom levels of the same finished piece.
At jewellery scale, an enormous but gradual slope can look subtle. Compare the relief settings and check the dimensions before deciding. Higher exaggeration changes the vertical proportions; it does not create new measured detail.
Our Mars pieces use terrain data to shape your chosen metal. They are not made from Martian meteorite.
