Materials, care and hallmarking
Last updated: 3 November 2026
Materials and skin sensitivities
Check the material and finish listed for the particular item you are ordering. Our iron meteorite jewellery contains nickel. If you have a known nickel allergy, avoid wearing meteorite jewellery. If you are unsure about a material or coating, contact information@quasarjewels.com before ordering. Stop wearing any item that causes irritation.
A plated finish is a surface layer over the material specified in the product description; it does not mean the whole item is solid gold or another precious metal. Plating can wear with use. We do not describe a product as nickel-free or hypoallergenic unless this is specifically stated and supported for that product.
Jewellery care
Keep iron meteorite jewellery dry and store it in a dry place. Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, exercise or using cleaning chemicals. Avoid direct contact with perfume and abrasive cleaners. Use a soft, dry cloth; ask us before using polishing solutions on a plated or etched surface. Natural pattern differences and ordinary wear do not excuse faulty or misdescribed goods.
Jewellery and decorative terrain models are not toys. Keep small components and packaging away from young children. Follow any product-specific safety and care information supplied with your order.
Hallmarking: the official Dealer’s Notice
The British Hallmarking Council’s official notice below explains what a hallmark looks like. You can also open the notice at full size.

A hallmark records independently tested precious-metal fineness. A number such as “925” on its own is not the same as a full recognised hallmark. UK law includes weight and other exemptions; mixed-material items need to be assessed under the applicable rules. This general explanation is not a claim that every item in our range bears a hallmark. Ask us for the hallmark and material details of the specific piece you are considering.

Product concerns
If an item is damaged, unsafe, incorrect or not as described, contact us with your order details. We remain responsible for the goods we sell. Care guidance does not remove your legal rights or require you to claim against a manufacturer. See our returns, cancellations and refunds policy.
